WELCOME BACK!!!!

I just wanted to say welcome back to all of our students! I'm really excited to have the same students in our class this year! We already know each other and that will make working together easier and more fun! We already started out with a FANTASTIC start to the new year!! I know we will enjoy our time together this year! There are going to be a lot of changes in our classroom since we are big THIRD graders now! I look forward to this new and exciting times and I hope my students do also!! =)

New Pics!

Hey everyone! I put some new pictures up of the things we've been doing lately.  We walked through a body walk to show us how our body's work.  Students were able to walk through different parts of the body that were set up in the gym.  All parts were connected kind of like a tunnel maze.  They really learned a lot and had fun doing it! We also had a real leprechaun visit us on St. Patrick's Day! He told us all about the things that he and his friends do and what St. Patrick's Day is all about!  Enjoy! =)

Working On The Play

In our class we are studying different genres of literature.  In kid words we are studying different types of books that we read.  I do use the "fancy" language with the kids so they will become familiar with the proper terms.  This week we have been talking about, and reading, traditional literature books.  Two of our reading groups are working on traditional literature plays to present to the class.  One reading group read the story of The Three Littel Pigs, the other group read The Gingerbread Boy.  This is a video clip of the students creating their props and costumes.  They are very excited about their plays!

Field Trip Day!!

Hey everyone the field trip was so fun we did alot of activities around the school with all of the second graders the activities were measure how far you can jump,measure how long you are with chalk and think how many m&m's you have. So then when we were done with the activities we went inside of the building we met a lady  upstairs . We went upstairs to learn about energy.                            by:leslie barajas

Today  me and my  sister are going to go play  games at the  mall.Then we are  going  to get icecream.Then we are  going to go biy me and my sister close and shos.I got  pink shos.My sister got  blck shos.Then we went home it was fun at the mall . THE END

Me  and  my reading  grope are  doing a piay  about  the  tree  little  pigs.We  are  macking our  costoms  for  the  play.Guitalupa  is  the  throd  pig.I am  the    frst pig. Quzoly is  the second pig.

Field Trip Day!!

Tomorrow is our "field trip" day.  Since we can't go on real field trips lately, our second grade has planned a day of educational fun! The Creative Discovery Museum will be here from Chattanooga to teach our kids about energy with fun activities! We will be doing some measuring games and some virtual field trips to the zoo, we may even visit outer space!! We will even be having a sack lunch! Check back for pictures of our one of a kind day!! =)
